Sustainability

Using eco-friendly methods was my main goal for starting this brand. Not only in the creation of my products, but in all other aspects. 100% sustainability is one of my many goals, and a difficult one at that, but here is some insight on all of the sustainable methods currently practiced in my production!

Secondhand Fabric:

“Secondhand” describes fabric, or other materials, having had a previous owner. The process of using hand-me-down fabric is a sustainable practice because it utilizes the materials already existing in the world, that would otherwise be unused and wasted, rather than buying something new which is a large waste of energy and resources. By reusing old or unwanted materials we are saving them from otherwise further polluting the planet. I obtain second hand fabric from friends and family, fabric thrift shops, and old clothes!

Zero Waste & Scrap Usage:

My production process is 100% zero waste. Any leftover cutting scraps are saved and made into new products, such as my various patchwork designs. Even the tiniest of scraps and threads are compiled and used for jacket stuffing.

Upcycling

Upcycling is the act of customizing and/or redesigning garments, particularly secondhand garments, which I obtain primarily by thrifting or collecting hand-me-downs. These are clothes I will repair if needed and then embellish with patches and various designs.

Packaging:

I use 2 different types of mailers, depending on the product.

  • Made from 100% recycled plastic
  • Made from discarded corn and bio-based polymer, which are 100% biodegradable

Tissue Paper- 100% recycled & 100% biodegradable

Shipping labels- 100% biodegradable, made with non-toxic adhesive

Any of the biodegradable contents can be added to your compost!
